SofaScore API endpoint

SofaScore team of the season API

Returns the team of the season SofaScore selected for a finished competition season: the formation, when it was created and the selected players (11 in football, 5 in basketball) with position, shirt number, team and average rating. A season that is still running, has no selection, or does not belong to the competition answers 404. Get `id` from search and `season` from tournament-seasons or tournament-winners.

How this endpoint behaves

Query parameters:

id: required. Numeric SofaScore unique-tournament (competition) id, e.g. 17 for the Premier League, 19 for the FA Cup, 132 for the NBA.
season: required. Numeric SofaScore season id of a finished season, from sofascore/tournament-winners or sofascore/tournament-seasons, e.g. 76986 for the 2025/26 Premier League.

Notable response behavior:

Football selections hold 11 players (formation such as 3-2-4-1); the NBA selection holds 5 (formation 2-3). order numbers the players in the formation, goalkeeper first. rating is the player's average rating over the season. Basketball positions use SofaScore's codes such as GF and FC.
A season that is still running, a competition without a selection and a season id that does not belong to the competition all answer 404 upstream and are reported as 404 (the 2026/27 Premier League season, for example). The FA Cup has a team of the season but no player of the season.
A response with no players or a selection without a player is treated as an upstream error. Weekly and season-level selections live in sofascore/team-of-the-week.
