TikTok API endpoint
Returns the mobile app's search typeahead for a seed keyword: `sug_list` of suggestions, each with `content`, `sug_type`, `word_record` (`group_id`, `words_position`, `words_content`, `words_source`) and positional fields, unmodified. Useful for query expansion and for seeing the phrases the app itself associates with a seed term. `keyword` is required; without it the upstream answers a well-formed but empty envelope.
/tiktok/mobile/search/sugReturns the mobile app's search typeahead — the suggestion list shown as a user types — unmodified. Each entry
carries the suggested content, its sug_type, a word_record (group_id, words_position,
words_content, words_source) and positional fields. Useful for query expansion and for seeing which phrases
the app itself associates with a seed term.
Measured device-free on the core edge/origin pair: keyword=lofi&count=10 → HTTP 200, 11,312 B,
status_code: 0, sug_list with 10 entries.
Query parameters:
keyword: required. The seed term to expand. Without it the upstream returns a well-formed but empty
envelope (sug_list: [], ~301 B) — so it gates usefulness rather than whether the call succeeds.count: optional. Suggestions to return, max 50. Measured 10 suggestions at count=10.Notes:
has_more and rid are present in the envelope; rid is a request id useful for correlating with upstream
logs.pos, highlight_pos, rich_sug_sec_pos) are returned as-is and are often null; they
are kept opaque rather than coerced, so a richer row never loses data.| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | Example |
