Slickdeals Category API

Returns the current deal listing for one Slickdeals category/tag (e.g. "laptop-bag", "apparel"): for each deal, title, price, list price, store, community vote score, comment count, the public username who posted it, and status flags (is_popular, is_expired, is_new, is_frontpage). slug must be one of the values from GET /slickdeals/categories -- an unrecognized slug returns a typed invalid-parameter error rather than being sent upstream. Pair a result's thread_id or url with GET /slickdeals/deal for the full detail record (description, full taxonomy).

How this endpoint behaves

Query parameters:

slug (required) — a category/tag slug from GET /slickdeals/categories. An unrecognized slug returns a typed invalid-parameter error rather than being sent upstream.

Response includes slug, deals[], count, source_url, and fetched_at. A category with genuinely no current deals returns an empty deals list, not an error.

Each deal has:

thread_id, title, url — the deal's identity. Pair with GET /slickdeals/deal for the full detail record (description, full taxonomy, comment content).
price, list_price (optional) — the deal price and original/list price.
store (optional) — the merchant name.
vote_score — the community "thumb" vote score.
comment_count — number of comments on the thread.
found_by (optional) — the public Slickdeals username who posted the deal.
is_popular, is_expired, is_new, is_frontpage — status flags Slickdeals attaches to the deal card.
posted_at (optional) — when the deal was posted, RFC3339.
