CourtListener API endpoint
Lists CourtListener's anonymous public judicial-person directory. Provide person_id to retrieve one public person record. The response contains only public directory and position-summary metadata; sensitive biographical fields are excluded.
/courtlistener/peopleLists CourtListener's anonymous public judicial-person directory (served from its public people search index), or returns one person when person_id is supplied. The response is deliberately limited to public directory and position-summary metadata; it excludes life dates, birth places, demographic, religious, political, educational, and affiliation fields.
Query parameters:
person_id (optional) — positive CourtListener person identifier. When supplied, the response contains one person and ignores cursor.cursor (optional) — cursor from the prior response's next_cursor field. Omit it to start at the first directory page.Notable response behavior: next_cursor, when present, continues directory pagination. Each person has a public profile page url, display name, optional slug, and position count; no sensitive biographical profile data is returned. An unknown person_id returns 404.
