We didn't wait for the recap pieces — we pulled the actual US Google Trends and Reddit data the next morning to see what people searched for once the final whistle blew. The headline number: 20 of the 30 top trending US searches were World Cup-related, and the single most-searched storyline wasn't a goal — it was a red card and a post-match confrontation between players that also topped three different subreddits.
The top 30, unfiltered
