Once a day we capture Steam’s three official store charts — live concurrent players, most played by 24h peak (both global) and the US top sellers — into a time-series dataset, one record per chart, country, day and rank. Because every day is stored, trends accumulate: you can watch a launch spike, a seasonal dip, or a free-weekend surge build over time rather than seeing only today.
The 24h move on the concurrent chart diffs the previous daily snapshot; the week moveon most-played uses Steam’s own last-week rank. Prices on the top-sellers chart are the current store price at capture — free-to-play titles show “Free”.
Honest limits. The concurrent total sums only the top 100 games, so it is a floor on Steam’s platform-wide concurrency, not the whole platform. Charts are captured once daily, so intraday peaks between snapshots are not seen. The underlying data is open under CC BY 4.0.
