SeatGeek API endpoint
Returns SeatGeek's full event-category tree (e.g. Sports > Baseball > MLB, Concerts, Theater), root and leaf nodes together. Each category's id is the value seatgeek-events-by-category's taxonomy_id parameter accepts.
/seatgeek/categoriesRequires the x-api-key header. No query parameters.
Returns SeatGeek's full event-category tree — e.g. Sports > Baseball > MLB, Concerts, Theater — root and leaf nodes together, sourced directly from SeatGeek's own dedicated taxonomy discovery endpoint.
Notable response behavior:
id is the value /seatgeek/events-by-category's taxonomy_id parameter accepts.parent_id is omitted (zero) for a root category (e.g. Sports).event_count/performer_count/next_event_datetime_utc are SeatGeek's own live counters for that category, where available.total is the full node count (163 as of 2026-09-15).| Field | Filled in, of 163 checked | Values in the sample |
