Rotten Tomatoes API endpoint
Use Crawlora's Rotten Tomatoes Editorial Content API to extract supported public Rotten Tomatoes data as structured JSON. This page includes request parameters, cURL examples, response schema, error behavior, credit cost, and a Playground link for testing before integration.
/rottentomatoes/editorial/contentLists paginated editorial records from the selected public content type. The pages collection lists public editorial section and campaign indexes. Use the editorial types endpoint to discover accepted type values. Developers commonly use this endpoint for data enrichment, monitoring, research dashboards, internal automation, and agent-native workflows that need repeatable structured public web data. Authentication uses the documented Crawlora headers, and usage is metered with the credit cost shown on this page.
Request parameters are generated from the active endpoint catalog. Required values must be sent before Crawlora can call the upstream public web data source.

This endpoint is executed through Crawlora's managed scraping infrastructure.
- Reads the selected public collection from the anonymous WordPress REST API. - The `pages` collection exposes public section page IDs, titles, and URLs. One legacy page links to `www.rottentomatoes.com`; that official host is normalized to HTTPS. - Can filter the collection by a discovered taxonomy and one or more discovered term IDs; filtered result rows include the matching `term_ids`. - Includes title, safe Rotten Tomatoes editorial permalink, publication and modification times, excerpt, author ID, and featured media ID when available. - Empty `results` with `total: 0` is a valid no-results response. Missing or invalid pagination headers, rows with another type, and links outside the editorial host are upstream errors. - The upstream `X-WP-Total` and `X-WP-TotalPages` headers provide pagination metadata. `has_next_page` is derived from the requested page and total page count. Example response: ```json { "code": 200, "msg": "OK", "data": { "type": "guide", "query": "horror", "taxonomy": "related-movie-id", "term_ids": [121877, 121876], "operator": "OR", "page": 1, "limit": 2, "total": 22, "total_pages": 11, "has_next_page": true, "results": [ { "id": 162290, "type": "guide", "title": "Brad Pitt Movies Ranked by Tomatometer", "url": "https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/all-brad-pitt-movies-ranked-by-tomatometer/", "published_at": "2026-09-25T08:55:34", "modified_at": "2026-09-25T08:55:35", "excerpt": "Pitt’s biggest movies, including ‘Fight Club’, ‘Moneyball’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!’", "author_id": 12, "featured_media_id": 297818, "term_ids": [121877, 121876, 121828] } ], "source_url": "https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/wp-json/wp/v2/guide?_fields=id%2Ctype%2Cdate%2Cmodified%2Cslug%2Clink%2Ctitle%2Cexcerpt%2Cauthor%2Cfeatured_media%2Crelated-movie-id&page=1&per_page=2&related-movie-id%5Boperator%5D=OR&related-movie-id%5Bterms%5D%5B%5D=121877&related-movie-id%5Bterms%5D%5B%5D=121876&search=horror", "fetched_at": "2026-09-26T10:00:00Z", "public_page_derived": true } } ```
Crawlora does not silently return bad data when the upstream page cannot be used.
| Status | Common failure case |
|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid input or missing required parameter |
| 429 | Plan or endpoint rate limit exceeded |
| 500 | Internal execution error |
| 502 | Upstream platform failed, returned unusable HTML, or served a challenge page that could not be resolved |
When possible, Crawlora returns structured error context so your integration can retry, back off, or inspect the request.
