How this endpoint behaves

Returns one auction's detail page.

slug is required: the {slug} segment of a /listing/{slug}/ URL (lowercase letters, digits and hyphens) or the full https://bringatrailer.com/listing/{slug}/ URL returned in the url field of bringatrailer-results and bringatrailer-live. A slug that does not exist returns 404 (Bring a Trailer redirects an unknown slug to its login page).

Notable response behavior:

• status is sold, reserve_not_met, withdrawn, live or ended. A withdrawn auction has no price or bids and carries the withdrawal date in ends_at; ended is an old auction with no recorded sale (its price is 0 when no high bid was recorded). price is the winning or high bid (a live auction's current bid) with currency, which can be USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD and others (Sold for GBP £2,100 is 2100 GBP); result_text is the site's wording.
• ends_at is the close (or scheduled close) in UTC. For a live auction result_text is Current bid …. bids, comments, views and watchers are the page's counters at fetch time.
• seller, seller_url and location come from the BaT Essentials box; chassis and details come from its Listing Details list (mileage, engine, transmission, colour and equipment as written by the seller).
• mileage, mileage_unit (miles or kilometers), mileage_text, mileage_rounded and mileage_unknown are read from the mileage line. mileage is the number in the unit the seller stated (187000 kilometers for 187k Kilometers (~116k Miles) Shown); mileage_rounded is true when the seller wrote a k figure such as 24k; mileage_unknown is true for a TMU (true mileage unknown) line, or when the mileage line itself ends in , TMU (a shown figure the seller says is not the true mileage). mileage_text is the seller's wording, including Shown qualifiers.
• engine, transmission, exterior_color and interior are the seller's own list items, copied verbatim, when one clearly matches (for example 3.6-Liter V8, Six-Speed Manual Transaxle, Seal Grey Metallic Paint, Black Leather Upholstery). They are best-effort: a line worded another way is left out of these fields but is always still in details. Treat an empty value as unknown, not as none.
• description is the page's own summary paragraph and image_url the lead photo. The full photo gallery, comments and bid history are not returned.
• Fields the page does not show are omitted rather than returned empty.
