Kennedy was supposed to attend a banquet in Dallas but no one could agree on a venue. It came down to two options. The Trade Mart northwest of downtown or the Women's Building to the east. One of the more vocal proponents of the Trade Mart was Texas Governor John Connally and, after much back and forth, he finally got his way on November 14.
