Managed execution
Every figure below is read from the live Reuters endpoint catalog — 6 endpoints, 12 documented request parameters, and 6 published response schemas — the same catalog Docs and Playground run against.
6 documented Reuters endpoints, grouped into 6 request families — Article, Articles and Author, plus 3 more.
12 request parameters are documented across those Reuters endpoints, 9 of them required — the full input contract is public before you write any integration code.
6 of the 6 Reuters endpoints ship a recorded example response, and 6 carry a documented response schema — you can code against the real JSON before the first request.
Reuters endpoints document their error responses (400, 404, 429 and 503) alongside the success schema, so a block, a rate limit, or a missing record comes back as a typed error rather than silently empty data.
6 hosted MCP tools back the Reuters endpoints, so an agent can call the same routes with the same parameters and the same JSON contract, with no custom glue.

Endpoint catalog
/reuters/articleReturns one normal Reuters article's public metadata and body paragraphs from a canonical article URL. Live blogs, video and podcast pages, and subscriber-only or bot-challenged responses are not supported.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 9 of 9 fields returned with a value. published_at: 2026-09-18; url: reuters.com.
MCP tool reuters_article
/reuters/articlesReturns a page of recent Reuters articles: canonical URL, update time, and the lead image URL when available, plus the title when Reuters publishes one in this index (currently it does not). The index covers the most recent 10,000 articles. Use /reuters/news for a title-bearing feed of fresh stories, or /reuters/article for one article's title and text.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 100 items, 3 fields filled in every item. updated_at: 2026-10-13; url: reuters.com.
MCP tool reuters_articles
/reuters/authorReturns a Reuters author's profile by canonical `url` (`https://www.reuters.com/authors/<slug>/`): name, company, editorial email, social accounts, profile image, `total_articles` and the first 20 recent articles, each with title, URL, summary, publication time and an image when the story card has one. Accounts the page does not list are absent.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 20 items, 4 fields filled in every item, 1 not. published_at: 2026-09-09 to 2026-10-09; url: reuters.com.
MCP tool reuters_author
/reuters/newsReturns fresh Reuters headlines with title, canonical URL, publication and update times, and the lead image when Reuters publishes one. Covers the most recent stories from Reuters' public news feed.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 50 items, 4 fields filled in every item, 1 not. published_at: 2025-11-08 to 2026-10-13; url: reuters.com.
MCP tool reuters_news
/reuters/sectionReturns a page of one top-level Reuters section's recent articles: canonical URL, update time, lead image URL, and image caption. This feed does not publish titles; use /reuters/news for a title-bearing feed of fresh stories.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 100 items, 2 fields filled in every item, 2 not. updated_at: 2026-10-13; url: reuters.com.
MCP tool reuters_section
/reuters/sectionsLists the top-level Reuters sections accepted by the `section` parameter of `/reuters/section`, returned under `items`. Each entry has a `slug`, a display `name` and the landing-page `url`. Takes no parameters.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 19 items, 3 fields filled in every item. name: “World” and 18 other values; url: reuters.com.

How to scrape Reuters
Crawlora's Reuters data API reads reuters.com directly, and its two list endpoints aren't interchangeable: a 2026-09-24 pull of /reuters/news returned 50 items, but several weren't in English — Portuguese, Spanish, and German headlines from Reuters' regional desks sat alongside the English wire. /reuters/articles, pulled the same minute, came back English-only. Sections, section archives, article extraction, and author lookups round out the rest, all normalized into JSON with one key.
Call /reuters/sections for the accepted values — world, business, markets, technology, sports, legal, sustainability, commentary, lifestyle, science, live, podcasts, media-center, investigations, fact-check, wider-image, city-memo, data, and video.
Call /reuters/news for Reuters' full multilingual wire, or /reuters/articles for an English-only current listing — useful when downstream processing assumes one language.
Pass a slug from /reuters/sections to /reuters/section. A 2026-09-24 technology pull ran roughly 80 items deep and skewed heavily toward AI coverage, from Meta's new Muse Charm gadget to SoftBank's $11.1 billion bond sale to fund its OpenAI stake.
Pass a canonical reuters.com URL to /reuters/article for authors, description, and ordered body paragraphs.
Pass a canonical reuters.com/authors/<slug>/ URL to /reuters/author for that reporter's profile and recent bylines.
Agent skills
Install a Crawlora agent skill and your agent can pull Reuters data as JSON through the documented API, without writing a scraper. These skills cover Reuters:
Researches public news from international, regional, business, technology, sports, science, and entertainment publishers through the Crawlora API —…
npx skills add github.com/Crawlora-org/crawlora-skills --skill news-media-researchFAQ
Reuters runs regional desks — Brasil, España, Deutschland — into the same rolling feed as the English wire. A 2026-09-24 pull mixed Portuguese items like a Brazilian central-bank story with English business news. /reuters/articles, by contrast, returned an English-only list at the same moment, so pick it when you need a single-language stream.
19, confirmed live on 2026-09-24 — everything from world and markets to niche verticals like fact-check, city-memo, and wider-image. Call /reuters/sections rather than hardcoding the list; it reflects Reuters' current public navigation.
No — it returns a recent slice, not the full history. Aditya Soni's author page reported total_articles: 294 but the payload itself listed roughly 20 recent pieces, spanning late July through late September 2026.
Normalized metadata and the ordered body paragraphs from a canonical reuters.com URL, ticker references and all — the Meta Charm gadget article, for instance, kept inline stock references like "(META.O)" intact. Malformed, blocked, or unsupported upstream responses come back as typed errors instead of partial content.
Not a self-serve one. Reuters is owned by Thomson Reuters, and its real-time news is licensed to media and financial customers through sales contracts, for example via Reuters Connect or LSEG Workspace. Crawlora reads Reuters' public pages instead, with Crawlora's own API key as the only credential involved.
